It is said: *“None is a prophet in his own land.” Spiritual teachers are truly and actually recognized after their time. A few only appreciate the spiritual teacher when he is with them. Then after the teacher has passed on, they say: “Oh how wonderful it would have been if we were there.” You see in writings that whatever is written about a teacher after he is gone is most always good. And of course, then everybody wants to be in that time when the teacher was living on Earth. And a few only want to be around when he is alive. And it is always like that. Then 10 years or 20 years after the teacher is gone, people say: “Oh how wonderful it would have been if we had been there with the teacher!” This is how the mind of man functions.
John the Baptist
*Matthew 13:57: A prophet is not without honor, save in his own Country and in his own Home.
